Job Description

Le caf du lyce is a new restaurant which will open mid-June 2015. It is a classy French coffee shop with patisserie, la carte menu and creative tapas. Le caf du lyce is currently looking for an experienced Chef to assist the French owners.
Note that the Chef will be thekey person in the caf after the owners. He should be highly motivated, independent and extremely involved in the business with the owners. It is a great opportunity for the Chef because he will join the restaurant from the beginning and he has a decision-making power along with the owners. There will be incentivebased on the turnoverin addition to the salary.

The restaurant is ready to open (furniture, interior decoration ...) except the kitchen. The kitchen will wait for the Chef so as to satisfy his requirement. The chef will manage a team of people (sous chef, server, cashier and commis). These people will be recruited after the Chef. Therefore the chef will get involved in the recruitment process of his team. It will helps him to work more efficiency with his team.

Responsibilities of the Chef include, but are not limited to:
1. The Chef will design the kitchen to fit the theme of the place and to fit the menu.
2. The chef wil be responsible for all the kitchen operations : Manage the menu recipes rotation for breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner and special events
3. Menu development in collaboration with the owners.
4. Food preparation and presentation and standardization of the recipes
5. Food labor and cost control
6. Sanitation and safety monitoring

Person with long term vision of working at caf du lyce (high responsibility, high involvement, incentive according to turnover)

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 2years' experience as a Chef in an upscale continental restaurant. An excellent knowledge of Continental cuisine and flavors is required. The Chef will work a varied scheduled that includes days, weekends and holidays. Knowledge of French cuisine and Patisserie will be a plus.
