Overall objectives of role:
To work as part of a marketing and business development team to identify growth areas and expand the client base of the company
To coordinate and maintain all activities required for the smooth and effective functioning of the company's business development activities
To ensure the use of strategy and fact-based decision making in all market development activities and plans

It is important to note that this is a role that includes strategic planning and monitoring of action plans, goals and targets as a chief component of the task.
Tasks, responsibilities and authorities
Strategic planning, market segmentation and detailed planning of business development activities to be completed within defined periods of time
Approaching customers through various means and media to represent the company as a functional service provider
Taking into account available budgets and effectively and efficiently planning marketing activities around these availabilities
Maintaining and presenting regular reports regarding the status of business development activities vis--vis business plans and targets
Staying abreast of market trends and presenting management with regular statistical and qualitative market analysis
Using current; and developing and maintaining further; contacts in the industry and providing input to the management regarding opportunities, threats, market conditions and new strategies
Developing program plans, resource requirements, strategic analysis and research for business growth.
Meeting targets related to revenues for the project and the company.
Preparing business proposals and presentations and partnering with operational teams and management to the extent required for these activities.
Facilitating audit visits to the company's facility and converting these into real-time business returns.
Coordinating with the Quality Assurance team in driving internal audits and Project readiness checklists to ensure the operations are in compliance.
Coordinating with operations to enable them to meet the target dates and quality parameters in order to meet customer requirements.
Coordinating with Finance & Accounts to make sure billing, collections and invoicing is on track and accurate.
Coordinating with partners to ensure scope of work is understood and delivered as required in a manner that allows the company to seamless offer a platform of services to its clients.
Rapport building both externally with sponsors and internally with project teams to achieve high level customer satisfaction and proper execution of projects.
Following SOPs, codes, practices and protocols applicable to Business development and to the company as a whole
Maintaining and presenting the MIS and Enquiry Register as defined within the system.
Reviewing client communications to ensure they are relevant with the requirements of the industry and to ensure the company can deliver to specifications.
Coordinating with the Quality Assurance team to address customer feedback and complaints in a timely, courteous and appropriate manner.
Maintaining all records of customer communication, customer feedback and complaints.
Supporting and presenting complete and accurate information to operations heads and project teams through frequent team meetings and regular communication.
Supporting vendor management activities by identification of appropriate vendors and negotiation of contracts.
Ensuring the company is registered with valid industry associations and that registration is maintained current.
Keeping abreast of national and international regulatory and statutory requirements as input to strategic planning and communicating them to the company management team to keep the system updated.
