The role of a Manager Business Development is to explore the external environment for new opportunities regarding the practice areas of Climate Adaptation, Sustainable Development, Forest & Biodiversity Conservation, Energy Efficiency, Rapid Response Management (Disaster Mitigation), Natural Resources Management etc.
Investigate the ODA flows into each of the countries in South and Central Asia, monitor the economic conditions in them for opportunities in the practice area.
Conduct extensive competitor analysis including mapping of LBG strengths and weaknesses against them.
Prepare a detailed business plan for each quarter.
Secure sufficient financial resources for future development or expansion.
Design, develop and maintain a database of experts in the field and network with research institutions in the practice area.
Coordinate with the Washington DC head office in bidding for new project and other business development activities.
Attend workshops and seminars to keep up-to-date on changes in the industry.
Monitor the deliverables of the projects under implementation and assist in maintaining client relationship and effectiveness of project teams.
Network with all the funding and implementing agencies in the practice area and build a pipeline of business opportunities.
To report on a weekly basis on the business development activities to the Vice President and assist in home office reporting requirements.
Excellent reporting skills, Writing Skills, Microsoft Office Skills, Managing Processes, Organization, Analyzing Information, Professionalism, Problem Solving, Verbal and written communication. He/she should have good knowledge of best practice and management theories. Preferred from Environment Consulting Background.
