Job Description

Brand Manager - Innovations

Role and Responsibilities :

- End-to-end responsibility for innovation projects (Ideation - Development - Launch - Sustenance)

- Creating a strong innovation pipeline delivering a - 20 Mn turnover by 2020

- Be the Innovation Champion for the brand

Main Duties and Functions :

- Insighting

- Proposition Development

- Business Case Ownership

- Communication Development

- Launch Planning

- Sustaining NPDs

- Understand key emerging consumer insights to successfully scope out latent opportunities

- Analyzing available research data/ lead new consumer research work for identifying potential brand extension opportunities

- Working effectively with creative agencies, Consumer Insights manager and R&D teams to develop strong potential consumer concepts

- Liaise strongly with R&D teams to ensure timely development of product prototypes for consumer and internal testing

- Build compelling business case for new launches and lead the innovation agenda in cross-functional team meetings

- Develop communication ideas with creative agencies to ensure strong positive traction for new products in launch markets

- Building strong and effective media plans within defined budgets for new launches

- Seamlessly translate business objectives into launch plans and work effectively with Sales Teams to create impactful launch communication for internal teams

- Constantly monitor progress and publish periodic - launch and learn- results with key stakeholders

- Champion the cause of NPD focus within the eco-system to ensure long term delivery of Strat Plan

Organization (Chart) :

- This position reports to Sr. Manager - Consumer Marketing

Background Information (for example) :

Stakeholders :

- Internal: Cross Functional Team Members (Marketing, Finance, R&D, Medical) and Sales (Medical, Trade Channels, RTM and CSD)

- External: Creative Agencies, Research Agencies, Media Buying Agencies, vendors and distributors

Decision Making Authority and Controls :

Job Specifications :

Education Background :

- MBA in Marketing from Tier I Business Schools

Skills Needed (Technical) :

- Familiarity with tools like ACNielsen, IMRB Household Panel, IMRB CTS, EBES, BASES

- Familiarity with media planning basics

Experience Needed (Professional) :

- Marketing (Brand/ Innovation) experience of at least 2 years, having launched at least 1 new product

- Total experience of at least 4-5 years

Core Functional Competencies to be successful on the job :

- Ability to develop strong marketing mixes for new launches

- Ability to take people along and drive results from cross functional project teams
