Job Description

Position Responsibilities:

The AP will be responsible to ensure business growth of the practice in a sustainable and a profitable manner in line with the Firms Public Relations business strategy; provide leadership and direction to the team and ensure high quality of service delivery & customer satisfaction with focus on Key Client Relationships. The Associate Partner leads a practice area and is responsible for the development and growth of his/her Strategic Business Unit (SBU). Additionally, the individual will assist the Managing Partner and Practice Leader in leading the strategic business initiatives of the firm.


Ideal candidate would have to be:

Education Graduate or Post Graduate qualification in Business Administration or a professional qualification in the field of public relations or marketing communication.

Experience Minimum 8 years of work experience for PA in public relations or the communications industry, out of which at least 4-6 years should be in a leadership position servicing Brand and Consumer sector clients.

Strategy & Financial Targets An AP is expected to assume responsibility for achievement of revenue, profitability and financial targets for their SBU, review financial and operational performance, and lead the business planning and strategic direction of his/her SBU in the Brand and Consumer practice. The individual should be capable of developing and implementing the firms business plan for his/her SBU/practice; managing overall profitability ( income, costs, productivity) of his/her SBU and managing the growth of the practice
Business Development (BD) An AP should be capable of driving growth of the practice/ firm by acquiring new business & opportunities.
Client Servicing An AP should be capable of driving service quality, client retention & growth for his/her SBU; developing the strategy/annual/quarter plan for the client portfolio under control; providing counsel to senior members of the client organisation; conducting client training workshops on media, crisis, messaging, etc; developing strong professional relationships with the key client representatives and developing professional relationships with journalists, analysts and key influencers.
Knowledge Innovation and Quality - An AP should take ownership of inculcating and driving penetration of domain and functional knowledge and expertise across all levels though sharing of knowledge , best practices and industry developments. He/ she should be able to contribute to thought leadership in the industry.
People Management - Coordinate with Talent team for operational people matters; focus on key talent retention and development and conduct select training sessions as required

Skills and Attitude required-

Have Brand & Consumer PR Experience with exposure to leveraging consumer insights to plan campaigns
Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
Ability to build strong trust based relationships with the clients
Persuasive ability and assertiveness while dealing with challenging issues
Decision making skills and risk taking ability
Should be able to manage a fast paced, high stress environment ensuring commitment to quality and deadlines
Discretion when dealing with confidential information
Should demonstrate highest standards of integrity and adherence to organizational values
Relevant knowledge of sector specific media will be an added advantage

Minimum Requirements:

Desired Profile

Candidates have to be from a PR Agency
Minimum 4 years of leadership role
Should have handled clients in FMCG sector
Excellent communication skills
