The SAP Associate Director is responsible for leading and managing the SAP Functional and Technology groups in the Business Services Operations, developing teams and projects within following key areas falling under SAP Center of Excellence (COE)

- SAP Basis and Security;

This position provides overall leadership and strategic direction for the competence center that supports the ongoing maintenance of the SAP system, oversees the implementation of upgrades and new modules, and drives continuous improvement to business process and business results based on the enterprise capability of the SAP solution.

Coordinates ERP maintenance and enhancement efforts to leverage enterprise resources, knowledge and best practices.

The SAP Associate Director reports directly to the Director of IT and remotely to the Executive Director SAP COE. The SAP Associate Director will be responsible for on time and on budget delivery of key strategic SAP initiates and projects spanning multiple regions across the globe.

Principal Responsibilities:

Manage the activities of a unit that is comprised of SAP Function and Technology specialists and contract staff involved in new roll outs and support.

Coaches and mentors staff and managers under direct report

Works on highly complex business issues that have significant impact on the enterprise, and across enterprise processes and functions, due to the integration of SAP.

Oversees application life cycle planning, including SAP Project Preparation, Blueprinting, Realization, Go Live and Support.

Oversees SAP projects, including project planning, resource allocation, steering committee leadership, and team organizational structure management

Establishes SAP support processes and ensures achieving documented SLAs

Measures and guarantees quality of all SAP deliverables in terms of timeliness, budget and reliability.

Provides thought leadership for SAP solution design for complex implementations

Define business-relevant KPIs for SAP area and presents them to senior management.

Plan, organize, direct and control the activities and resources required to carry out multiple, simultaneous SAP projects involving multi-disciplinary teams. Share and align plans with functional shareholders.

Provide cost benefit and project feasibility assessments based on modeling.

Develop an efficient working model with local IT consulting firms to deliver projects with highest quality, value added service to internal stakeholders and ensure customer improvement initiatives are well established.

Responsible for the SAP strategic planning framework, budgets and plans.


Work Experience (Years, setting, etc.)

12 years+ relevant experience within SAP on Functional Modules pertaining to SD, PP, MM,SCM, FICO, etc

Significant experience managing and leading SAP teams (both small & big) across global locations, diverse functions

Extensive experience in planning, budgeting and allocation, implementation and administration, including Solution design for complex SAP implementations

Project management experience in managing large and complex SAP projects spanning across multiple geographies

Fluent in English both spoken and written;


University degree from a top-tier institute, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or Mathematics.

Certification in key SAP Functional modules

MBA is a plus, along with PMP
