Job Description

The purpose of the Area Sales Manager Fixed Systems East India position is to develop and maintain a profitable customer base Fixed Systems by working with Key Distributors and Key End User and Integrator customers in the assigned territory. The objective is to meet Fixed Systems sales and contribution objectives by targeting focus industries and end user markets as well as OEMs, specifiers and integrators.

The ASM Eastern Region will be focusing on the following key product & project segments
1. Industrial Fixed Gas Detection products & systems
2. Fixed Wireless Gas Detection products & systems
3. Industrial Flame Detection products & systems
4. Fixed Commercial & Refrigeration products & systems
5. Residential Fixed Products & systems.

1. Sales growth.
2. Distributor management and development.
3. Develop knowledge of product, application and industries.
4. Planning and communication.
5. Co-ordinate Fixed system opportunities across internal sales contacts & internal customers

Essential Responsibilities External

Grow sales and profits.
Map all major industry, end users, consultants and contractors in Eastern India.
Identify channels, alliances and partnerships to grow the current business.
Explore untapped markets and applications, get the first mover advantage
Explore leads and opportunities for existing and new applications
Collaborate with National Sales teams to target identified programs and opportunities and drive them towards closure
ASM will provide support to sales leader in implementation of growth strategy for Oil & Gas verticals , Mining and Metals, as well as General Industrial Safety requirement.
Develop value propositions at various forums and build pipeline
Provide competitive intelligence to complete sales teams and management
Build competency and create preference of our products and solutions.
Get approved and specified in all identified opportunities
Establish industry relationships with relevant stakeholders and ensure successful sales strategy
Increase product and company visibility with customers by successful sales initiatives and participation at major conferences, events and trade shows
Develop distributors with application expertise capable of selling application intensive products,
Train distributors, end users, OEMs, integrators.
Demonstrate equipment and conduct training to key end-users.
Make sales presentations on new products and application solutions to distributors, OEMs, end users, integrators and system houses.
Build a distributor base of ever growing performing distributors (establish goals and plans to achieve goal).
Develop annual sales volume targets and action plans with key distributors to increase sales / service effectiveness to end-users.


5 to 8 years successful related sales experience.
Bachelors degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all organizational levels and personal styles.
In-depth understanding of the market place and competition.
Knowledge of Gas Detectors, Flame detectors, Control systems and product application.
Effective communication skills
Professionalism and Leadership skills
Willingness to travel up to 50-60% of the time.
Ability to work from a home-based office if required
Languages known English, Hindi & Bengali (must)
