Windows Server Expert level knowledge and understanding of Windows Server operations and roles such as clustering, file services, printing, active directory, certificates, deployment services, patching, IIS, DNS, DHCP, performance monitoring, event logging, and PowerShell scripting.
Virtualization platforms Expert level VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi hypervisor operations such as cloning, snapshots, templates, high availability, virtual networks, vMotion, and storage vMotion. Familiarity with other virtualization platforms such as Citrix Xen, Microsoft Hyper-V, and cloud services such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.
Storage technologies Expert level understanding of local, SAN, and NAS storage technologies including protocols and services such as block level storage, SMB/NFS/iSCSI mounts, replication, and snapshotting.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity High level understanding of DR/BC technology and methodology, backups, restores, replication, and associated systems from vendors such as Veeam Backup, EMC Avamar, Commvault etc.
Hands-on troubleshooting and break/fix of Virtualization components
Optimization and process implementation of environment for improved services and reliability
Monitoring and reporting up-time of environment based on SLAs
Ability to independently analyze and diagnose highly complex networking problems across different platforms. Understanding of datacenter network fabric topologies and common architecture (both L2/L3 based), firewall, Ethernet, Radius, etc.
Able to be technically hands-on in servicing the requirements of a client.
