Job Specification: UNIX Scripting Developer with Autosys The work will comprise Working with a team of Chennai based developers supporting the existing scripted code base of around 100,000 lines of code (made up of largely Korn shell (ksh) code, with small but important expect and perl code as well) Integrating applications across multiple locations with each other and with external clients. This will involve liaising with UK project teams, Chennai development team and UK Group IT to author end-to-end flows as specified by the technical architect(s) Understanding UNIX technical issues and how they affect UNIX-based applications. There are both Solaris 10 and RedHat Linux servers across UK and Paris. Acting as a technical authority on UNIX-related, script-related, and also Autosys-related subjects Authoring UNIX scripts in ksh, expect, perl and Autosys batches in JIL Working with Autosys- JIL command line interface to inspect running schedules, troubleshoot scheduling issues and advise support teams; two live schedules contain multiple calendars, an automated scripted upgrade path and thousands of jobs Troubleshooting problems with the Autosys application itself and it's communications between the client and server. Defining new feeds in a new XML-based feed mechanism (in XML) Working with CVS / SVN in a Solaris environment and in Windows environment The successful candidate will have Highly developed organizational skills; ability to see a solution to a problem quickly or otherwise able to break a complex problem down and work through it conscientiously. They will be able to think clearly and communicate well in English 5+ years experience coding UNIX-based scripts in Korn shell in a Solaris environment 5+ years experience of Solaris (not necessary as an administrator although this would be a massive advantage) 2+ years experience of CA's Autosys scheduler, coding in JIL (at least a year), capable of understanding complex interdependencies and defining new, and managing existing calendars 2+ years experience working with the expect and perl scripting languages in a UNIX environment 1+ years experience working with XML, 1+ working with CVS on the command line Preferably we are looking for someone with experience working in a banking environment, capable of handling several projects concurrently, with occasional tight deadlines.
