Solution integrator is expected to have the following traits:

The responsibilities of a solution Integrator are:
Proactive Solution Phase
o Provide solution inputs for preparing a business case
Bid Qualification
o Participate in Bid Qualification Calls Capture customers drivers for the proposal, assess competition and aid in determining target pricing
o Request for bid qualification at intermediate milestones, as needed
Solution Definition
o Conduct solution brainstorming /white-boarding sessions
o Should Interact with Sales team to get the pulse of the customer on their preferences/choices of solution components
o Identify solution stakeholders and define solution scope for each
o Define solution storyboard, key tenets of solution, differentiators, executive summary outline
o Publish the High level Solution Straw-man identifying the major components of the solution This will be drilled down by the technology, horizontal and vertical competency solution architects in their specific areas
o Publish Dos and Donts for solution development to each stakeholder
Solution Development
o Identify appropriate case studies and references, as needed
o Define review milestones and identify reviewers to be incorporated in bid plan
o Identify product/technology partners, as needed
o Should continuously interact with the individual solution component SPOC to review and guide the component solution so that it is in line with the overall solution
o Analyse the impact of any scope change / query resolutions from customer on the overall solution, timelines, efforts, SLAs
o Baseline the proposal ready for submission
o Integrate solution components to create proposal response
o Own the E2E sizing. Should be able to optimise the sizing based on inputs from individual technology / component owners
Solution/Proposal Review
o Review and sanitize the review comments and queries
o Ensure that there are no gaps / overlaps in effort estimates in a multi-pillar scenario
o Review engagement level delivery schedule, communication and escalation plan, assumptions, risks and dependencies provided by delivery owner
Commercials
o Define / Develop commercial model with finance, as needed
Delivery Plan
o Blueprint engagement level delivery schedule, communication and escalation plan, assumptions, risks and dependencies
Bid Risk Tracking
o Identify, track and mediate risks throughout the bid process
Bid Defence
o Should create the story for the defence to effectively communicate our value proposition
o Should defend the overall solution during bid defense and be able to handle any questions on the overall solution
Commercial negotiation
o Aid in commercial negotiation, as needed
Handover to delivery
o Handhold delivery team during the initial period to ensure the delivery happens in line with what was proposed
o Assist in delivery assurance reviews
Solution Areas Solution Integrators are expected to have expertise in one or more solution areas so that when a RFP/RFS request comes, the right solution integrator can be mapped. The solution areas are:
Telecom BSS (Either/or with OSS Mandatory both - desirable)
o Billing, CRM, Ordermanagement, Portal, Self Care etc.
o Helping applications like number management, no. portability, voucher management, RAFM etc.
o CCT will be an advantage
o Knowledge and expertise on modern digital concepts of Omnichannel and its integration with BSS systems.
Telecom OSS (Either/or with BSS Mandatory both - desirable)
o Provisioning & Activation
o Discovery & Reconciliation Inventory
o Atleast two major COTS product expertise across FCAPS Netcool, SMARTS, Remedy
o Knowledge and exposure to modern concepts SDN/NFV and integration with OSS systems
AMS
o T&M and Managed Services - usually all technologies including .Net, Java, MF, Middleware and ERPs (Mandatory)
Cross Platform Solutions (Desirable)
o System Integration, Legacy Modernization, Application Migration, Middleware Migration
Architecture services (Desirable)
o EA Assessment, Support and Governance and other architecture services
