Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) is responsible for managing all infrastructure components, supporting business delivery projects and delivering TIS projects. The function is divided into six core disciplines:
Service Management - Responsible for managing our Customers, Service Desk & proximity services, Incident & Problem Management and Application Infrastructure.
Delivery Support - Responsible for supporting the delivering of business change initiatives, which includes project, small works, environment management and other non BAU tasks.
Technology Control Responsible for protecting the Infrastructure Environment includes Security Management, Risk and Audit Management, Change Management and Disaster Recovery.
Architecture and Engineering Responsible for Technology Architecture and engineering solutions, in line with Technology roadmaps.
Operating Environment responsible for maintenance and fault resolution on Platforms, Storage, Messaging and Data Centre Services.
Network & Voice responsible for maintenance and fault resolution on Network, Voice and Firewall, managing commercials and financials, and delivery of TIS projects, within technology domain.
Application infrastructure Responsible for maintenance of the application infrastructure layer that involves middleware, database, application deployments and managing internal applications.
The main functions of the recruiting department are to support the Monitoring, Event Management, Alerting of the infrastructure and application estate across environments with-in us.
Purpose of your role
The Sr. Manager Monitoring role will be responsible for managing the global monitoring service that we plan to establish within. The candidate will be responsible for day to day functional management of the global team and people management of the local team.
The candidate will play a key role in the strategic inputs for the Monitoring Strategy and assist in driving the same to deliver desired outcome. The candidate will also need to ensure that there is a steady stream of incremental improvements achieved in the current platform. The candidate is expected to provide guidance and transform the current monitoring team to cover all the requirements (addressing application and business requirements) from the future Global Monitoring Service.
Functional responsibility of Strategic, Project and Service Delivery of the monitoring function.
Accountable for the deliveries of the Global Monitoring Service from both strategy and day to day operations perspective.
Actively promote a culture of continuous improvement and ensure that a steady stream of incremental improvements is delivered.
Establish the function with the right skills required for the Global Monitoring Service.
Effective communication and collaboration with the Global Infrastructure Services organisation.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Global Monitoring team.
Act as Trusted advisor to the customers.
Ensure service as per the service management guidelines and SLAs.
Ensure delivery in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner.
Stakeholder management across various Technology and Business teams.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with senior leadership.
Ensures that technical solutions are fit for purpose, including for functional, non-functional and support requirements and to Global Technology Strategic direction.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Exceptional domain knowledge on the infrastructure, application and service level monitoring.
Extensive experience in analysing monitoring requirement, proposing solutions & implementing as per client requirement to provide required telemetry.
Excellent conceptual knowledge and experience on different monitoring capabilities. E.g. APM, CEM, Synthetics, IT Operations Analytics (SPLUNK, ELK etc.), Cloud monitoring.
Experience in delivering multi-vendor integrated monitoring solutions aligned to the above capabilities defined.
Infrastructure monitoring (e.g. HP / CA / BMC suite, Solarwinds)
Application Performance monitoring (e.g. Performance, customer experience). (e.g. CA Wily, Dynatrace)
Experience / Knowledge on market leading tools (e.g. App Dynamics, New Relic, Ruxit, ITRS Geneos).
Log aggregation and analytics. (e.g. Splunk, ELK or Hadoop)
Service Level dashboards for clients based on monitoring data.
Experience defining monitoring standards and developing the standard monitoring framework for an organisation.
Experience delivering automation solutions and efficiency improvements.
Experience managing global stakeholder management and influencing skills.
