Job Description

Job Role - In-depth Knowledge of prevailing as well as future automotive systems and components design, development and application. Understanding of various vehicle systems. Knowledge of vehicle design and simulation techniques and using the results to fine tune the design. Good understanding of various manufacturing Processes. Working knowledge of problem solving techniques and design optimization, Benchmarking, Warranty Analysis, Cost Reduction, Value Engineering, IPR management, DFMEA, DFS, etc. Knowledge of all legislative standards(AIS) and new regulations.(CMVR, EEC, ECE,ADR, FMVSS etc.) Vehicle Packaging knowledge, BOM Analysis, Vismock up & PLM teamcenter, Vehicle Familiarization & Dynamics. Responsibilties : 1. Contribution to planning - Support mapping and checking of competency gaps and provide inputs to plan for enhancing the capability - Provide inputs for resource planning (budget, people and infrastructure) 2. Key actions and decisions - - Support the availability of clean and complete(100%) CAD data in PLM system (CAD shortfall report) - Support proactive identification of BOM errors If any - Work on DMLs for identification of issues in PLM system - Follow up for new and pending DML(Design Modification List) releases - Support and track Digital Demerit scores/issues (Digital VLO) list, which Includes No. of Wire and Tube issues, Mech Packaging issues, Thermal packaging issues, Drawing Flaws and no. of BOM errors. - Prepare signoff sheets for issues identified in CAD are tracked till the physical vehicle assessment. - Assess complete vehicle VLO and compare with digital Environment - Study and support implementation of cost saving and quality improvement ideas - Support Data & Process Management System, certification & other Legislations compliances - Facilitate Quality Systems & Audits, competency development, IPR management 3. Nature of problems faced/ Scope of improvement opportunities - Support development / improvement initiatives for methods, standards and processes - Participate in various Knowledge management initiatives for enriching the design manuals / testing standards/ contribution to IPR's - Scan the external environment through continuous benchmarking and trend mapping related to aggregate design and development 4. Communication - Stakeholder(s) Internal/External Nature of Communication Team Lead DMU Internal "-Daily Work Load/activities -Discussions for Test plans -Data analysis & report queries -All sorts of updations ( Projects/TS/WI/data management -Status updates / review" COC/Designers / Integrator Internal -DMU reports, Digital demerit sheets/clarifications & input documents for issue resolution
