Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities Manage an operations team with Trade Processing including trade capture, confirmation and settlement. Assist Senior Management to expand the team as the business in Chennai grows. Manage the processing of Global Security transactions on the global trade processing platform within given deadlines. Interact with both internal and external parties to resolve trade confirmation and settlement queries Will be required to take a lead role in project work, where the team takes on new funds and clients on a regular basis Expected to run the functions on a day to day basis, in conjunction with the Team Members. Solid technical understanding of the Fund Services is expected, including strong knowledge of and Trade Processing & Trade Settlements. Demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement is required. Query resolution in accordance with time frames set out in Client SLAs Ensure that, client issues/concerns are addressed and resolved with in the agreed timelines. Ensure all the transactions are processed and approved within the timelines. Ensure high level of communication network is established will all the departments within the business group. Ensure all the documentation is in place w.r.t Risk mitigation and Control. Ensure high level of service has been delivered to the Clients of Company. Prioritize the work and conduct investigation with due diligence on all the discrepancies. Manage staff to take corrective measures/actions. Ensure procedures are in place to effectively deal with exceptions and that they are reviewed, researched, documented and resolved in a timely manner. Delegating the tasks to all team members. Ensure all the necessary training is been provided to the team members to perform the relevant tasks Ensure that, the Back-up management tool is in place for all the team members. Ensure all the deliverables of the process are met and maintained as per the service agreement. Participate in Cross Training and ensure the Knowledge transfer between the team and processes is happening on periodic basis. Defining the Key Performance Indicators for the process and achieving the same on a regular basis. Consistently evaluate and update documented procedures to ensure they are complete, accurate and current. Preparation of Key/Standard Operating Procedures for each process migrated to Chennai Hub Ensure all the KOP/SOP are got approved and signed between the locations and been uploaded to Company intranet site. Collating the data from all the applications and providing valuable inputs to Senior Management. Consistently evaluate and update documented procedures to ensure they are complete, accurate and current and should acts as an owner of all the process documents of the Hub. Carry out regular staff appraisals and evaluations. Knowledge and skills required Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills. Have an in depth knowledge of markets and products, respect & adhere the applicable procedures for each market. Particular knowledge of Fareast market requirements is a must. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple tasks, and meets strict deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and strong MS-Word & Excel skills required. To be based in Chennai and prepared to travel as required. Must be able to run BAU activities and when required also be involved in project work for the migration of new funds and clients. Must be prepared to work in any shift supporting Asia/Americas/European business hours. Good knowledge of Securities Services Industry High computer skills Swift knowledge, MT540, MT541, MT542, MT543, MT300 and 302 Good settlement market knowledge and in particular knowledge of the Far East market Knowledge of key risks including buy in and pre-funding markets An understanding of how an Asset Manager operates with Custodians and Brokers An understanding of a variety of Instrument types including Equities, Bonds, Unit Trusts An understanding of foreign exchange Knowledge of Omgeo CTM & Hi-Portfolio would be an added advantage Identify Operational Risk Areas within the Client Business Revenue Process. Supervise, Monitor, Control and Co-ordinate all activities in the department. Lead and motivate the employees in the department Identify and develop succession plan. Lateral thinker with an ability to identify problems and suggest possible solutions Ability to train and pass on the knowledge to the new / junior members of the team. Identify Operational Risk Areas within the Client Business Revenue Process. Supervise, Monitor, Control and Co-ordinate all activities in the department. Lead and motivate the employees in the department Identify and develop succession plan. Sounds Technical knowledge in: Trade Process from Trade input through to Settlements including reconciliations Equities/Fixed Income/Treasury/Derivatives instruments Fareast, Europe and APAC Markets and related Systems Educational qualification : Graduation / Post Graduation with specialization in Commerce or Finance Total years of experience : 8-12 years Relevant years of experience : Minimum of 7-9 years Number of staffs supervised : Minimum of 10-15 members
