The Manager-Product Development is a middle management role in the Foods Business. The role holder will work on new product development, execution and standardization of all process & blend related activities, Process validation, conducting trials at pilot plant/third Party Facilities, and testing guidelines, vendor identification and development for raw material evaluation, stability study, literature/products/technology screening, and search documentation of activities, compilation of and timely delivery of the products.
Lead and direct research, technology and ingredients led innovations to create differentiated rice food product experiences while ensuring adherence to Food Quality and Safety norms.
The jobholder will be responsible for the NPD plans for packaged rice products through developmental, technological and nutritional interventions and ensure its delivery.
Guide the category team on raw material (paddy) requirements and equipment requirements for blend development and conduct internal evaluation of the output.
Conceptualize and innovate on new platforms of product and process development including health range & convenience.
Closely liaise with Cross Functional Teams (CQL, Packaging & Corp. R&D) within the Organization to effectively execute all PD activities and deliver prototypes for testing and evaluation.
Support the Category team in exploring and validating various product platforms and technologies in order to develop and maintain a healthy product portfolio.
Monitor the execution of process validation, ensure process transfer from lab to plant, optimize and scale-up processes for new products to support the successful implementation of new product development.
Ensure development, execution and delivery of formulation related activities in Lab as per the panning of the allocated projects within the defined timelines & resources made available
Generate and support claims and regulatory aspects for the projects by closely engaging with internal functions like CQL. Life Sciences Dept., etc.
Develop and manage relationship with R&D Consultants specific to the need, ingredient suppliers, flavor houses, etc.
Develop and manage relationship with research institutes, Universities, experts from the industry, global suppliers for the functional food ingredients, etc.
The candidate is expected to have 7-10 years of experience in a food company in the R&D/ formulation development of rice products with hands on experience in transferring technology to business.
