Lead Engineer -Car body shell within TD function
Purpose of the Job
To have competencies/skills in AT-BGL team to support on Projects, Bids, tenders execution
Direct reporting to Domain Manager
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Is accountable for the Delivery of CarbodyShell Engineering outputs, in compliance with the Engineering QCD commitments.
o Deploys and applies on project Train Design development procedures.
o Monitors, controls and consolidates his workpackage. As such:
- Organizes and leads his workpackage reviews for the project he/she is in charge,
- Manages Risk Assessment and Mitigation Plan,
- Reports his targets to Train Design Engineer/Metier manager (QCD consolidation and risks).
o Good knowledge in Structural Design, Material specification / weld types, structural standards (proof, fatigue and crashworthiness), interfaces, weights mgt and manufacturing tolerances.
Ability to undertake basic stress calculations
Ability to select and size mechanical fixings, including; threaded fasteners, huck bolts, rivets on the basis of structural requirements
Good understanding of vehicle architecture and systems and their methods of installation
Good awareness of the carbody cost drivers and an ability to optimize solutions to achieve a cost effective system that meets the functionality and performance requirements.
o Supports Train Design Engineer in establishing Certification & Validation Plans.
o Organizes Design / Verification reviews and provides the associated reports.
o Manages Technical Solution, Gaps on application part and Product part in accordance with his M?tier.
o Defines and monitors the conformity Mechanical Sub-Systems deliveries and other providers with project needs.
o Supports industrialization and production teams during manufacturing ramp-up.
BTech/MTech in Mechanical Engineering
8+ Years of Experience with BTech/MTech Mechanical Engineering
Good Knowledge in developing concepts of Stainless steel carbodies and Aluminium carbodies and it's different sub-assemblies, Mountings and Vechicle Architecture of different rail products
