Sr Manager Infrastructure Delivery
1. General Requirement:
This position is for Technology Infrastructure function and the key responsibility would be Compute Infrastructure delivery that will include platforms such as IBM AIX on Power, Sun Solaris on Oracle SPARC, SAN Storage systems. Candidates must possess good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; must have good techno commercial skills; good listening, analytical, and problem-solving skills; willingness to share techniques and skills with peers;
2. Skill Requirement:
Candidate must be practitioner of infrastructure delivery with skill areas covering Server Hardware, Operating Systems, SAN systems, Webservers, Middleware, Database as an integrated model. Candidate should have managed infrastructure delivery covering
RISC Hardware : IBM Power/IBM AIX or Oracle SPARC/Oracle Solaris or both, with virtualisation technologies such as IBM PowerVM, Oracle OVM (LDOM)
Intel Platform / MS Windows OS, Linux OS with virtualization vmware, Hyper-V etc
Enterprise class SAN Storage systems virtualized storage, software defined etc
Backup hardware / software Tape, LTO, D2D etc
Infrastructure for Database tier Oracle Database with RAC, MS SQL with clustering etc
Infrastructure for Middleware Weblogic / Websphere / JBoss etc
Infrastructure for Webserver IIS, Apache etc
System Software Licenses compliance OS, Middleware, Databases
Build of virtualized infrastructure, Private cloud
DC/DR implementations to address BCP requirements
Cloud adoption / integration
Must have managed Technology Infrastructure Delivery relating to Business Critical end-user Internet / Intranet Facing OLTP / Online applications on multi-tier architecture with a focus on 24x7/365 availability.
Shall be a practitioner of Information Security standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001
Should have managed delivery of integrated solutions covering different OEMs, without the need for depending on single/limited vendor offerings (vendor-agnostic) for the Compute, Storage, middleware, database stacks
Should have strong techno-commercial / Business orientation and sensitive to cost dynamics relating to components of Infrastructure stack.
Exposure to establishing cloud infrastructure private / public will be an added advantage.
3. Job Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Delivery including planning, resource management, vendor management, procurement management, Infrastructure build in coordination with vendor resources as well as internal resources for delivery on time, documentation, transitioning and hand-over covering
Infrastructure Build Planning covering all aspects of the Infrastructure Stack Hardware, Operating Systems, Network Interface, Application Interface
Manpower provisioning within the available in-sourced resources and/or coming-out with plans to manage skilled-resources requirement on-demand.
Vendor Management from Purchase to commissioning, post commissioning etc
Documentation of requirements gathering, plan iterations, stakeholder inter dependencies, internal domain specialists, build, transition etc
Regular reporting of project dashboards to senior management
Act as an owner / authority for the entire Compute Infrastructure domain covering Servers of all Hardware platforms (Intel, IBM Power, Oracle SPARC, Engineered systems etc), Operating Systems (IBM AIX, Oracle Solaris, Windows, Linux etc), SAN Storage Systems, Backup infra etc from Design, Build and Transition perspective
Own and implement adoption of Industry Standards such as ITIL, ISO for process for Infrastructure Build
Ensuring implementation of Information Security controls complying to standards like PCI DSS, ISO 27001 as applicable
Act as a authority in the Software Licenses compliance for the Compute Infrastructure and ensure compliance to SAM practices in the Infrastructure domain.
Work with Infrastructure Architecture team to design cost effective infrastructure solution complying with requirement specifications.
Train / Orient the team in emerging technologies on an ongoing basis.
Ability to operate across multiple projects simultaneously and assume responsibility for managing project life cycle from design, build and smooth transitioning to operations
4. Educational Qualification:
BE / B. Tech / B. Sc. / Diploma
5. Work Experience:
16+ years of work experience covering skill areas mentioned above. The candidate should have good communication and presentation skills. Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office Tools especially MS Word, MS Excel and MS Visio.
