Job Description

The General Manager will lead the business and be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy agreed with the Managing Director.
The General Manager will have the prime responsibility for the preparation and subsequent delivery of the annual budget and the sales and profit expectations of the company. He/she will also be responsible for bidding and securing new business in line with the strategic plan and growing a profitable business. The General Manager will be the one responsible for the wholesome growth of the new organization including generating business and ensuring best industry practices.
To review and where appropriate initiate the day to day operation of all contracts to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency throughout the Company and to this end become fully conversant with each and every activity undertaken by the Company.
Contribute to, understand and be familiar with the existing strategy of the Company and the Group and play an active role as the General Manager of the Company.
Assist in formulating the strategy for the Company in line with the objectives of the Company and the Group.
Together with the Finance Department and the co. Managers, be responsible for setting budgets. Take ownership of the budgeting process for the Company, and accept responsibility and ownership for the agreed budgets and their delivery.
Provide leadership within the Company.
Play the leading role in securing new business for the Company, taking responsibility for marketing, pricing, tendering and establishing a secure customer base.
Ensure the successful inception of new contracts.
Maintain and nurture a good relationship with all customers.
Direct all the Companys business activities.
Secure and increase the profitability of the Company.
Build and maintain a sound organizational structure.
Take heed of and adhere to all Group and Company guidelines on policy matters.
Recruit, train and motivate staff within the Company.
Monitor the performance of the business through proper accounting and reporting to the Groups Director.
Take responsibility for all health and safety requirements and needs within the Company and adherence to the applicable quality standards.
