Job Description

Job Description:
1 . Own and support the development of the implementation of t he institutional fundraising strategy.
2. Identify, build strong, effective working relationships with institutional donors.
3. Grant acquisition, manage key institutional awards, including delivering all financial and technical reporting and close out processes.
4. A major focus of the role will be to work with the programmes team and other functions to develop high quality funding proposals and deliver on grant accountabilities.
5. Ensure fund raising targets are met.


Fundraising:

o Grow and sustain institutional income in line with organizational strategy.
o Plan and coordinate funding approaches, working closely with the Director-Programmes and Heads of other Functions to develop high quality funding applications. This includes developing project proposals, budgets, log frames and theory of change in accordance with funder guidelines.
o Research, identify and plan approaches to new institutional funding opportunities.

o Work closely with the programmes team and other related functions to ensure understanding of any implications, risks and opportunities of institutional funding applications/awards.
o Remain abreast of institutional donor trends in line with global development goals and share knowledge as appropriate across the organisation.
o Represent organization at networks and forums relevant to institutional partnership development.
o Support other areas of fundraising (ie. trusts & foundations, major donors, partners) as required in the development of effective fundraising proposals.

Grant Management:

o Work with the Director - Programmes to develop and ensure monitoring and evaluation systems and procedures for awarded grants.
o Ensure reporting requirements for all institutional donors are met and reports are completed to deadlines.
o Lead on institutional donor grant agreement/contract negotiations and compliance.
o Ensure all relevant team members are fully briefed on the terms and conditions of donor grant agreements/contracts, including key deadlines.
o Manage due diligence processes, facilitate donor audits and coordinate with the Director - Programmes on external evaluations.
o Manage a system for maintaining all contacts, information and deadlines for each grant award and new fundraising opportunity.

General Management

o Lead on the development of annual income and expenditure budgets/forecasting for institutional fundraising.
o Produce internal reports (monthly) and conduct reviews (quarterly) on the performance and progress of institutional fundraising against agreed financial targets, operational activities and annual objectives.
o Ensure collaboration and open relationships with institutional donors.
