Customer Returns is looking for a talented data engineer to help manage our ever-growing information needs and support analysis of increasingly complex business questions. In Customer Returns, understanding customer data is paramount to our success in providing customers with the best returns experience and also help achieve the business goals. You will be working in one of the world's largest and most complex data environments.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
Lead, participate in gathering business requirements, analysis of source systems, define underlying data sources and transformation requirements, design suitable data model, and develop metadata for the Data Warehouse/Analytical Reporting
Prepare Technical Design / Specifications; develop routines for data extraction and loading
Critically think, hands on development, and attention to detail from analysis through implementation and post-production.
Effectively communicate with various teams and stakeholders, escalate technical and managerial issues at the right time and resolve conflicts
Demonstrate passion for quality and productivity by use of efficient development techniques, standards and guidelines.
Create a sustainable model for generating daily and weekly views into usage and revenue data
Select and manage an adhoc analysis and reporting dashboard platform
Acquire new data sets that would drive innovation in the business
Generate useful insights that will help direct the business
Build a platform to perform automated business intelligence and benchmarking
Perform effort estimation for various Data Warehouse activities; meet project deliverables as per requirements, on time within budgets.
Strong Computer science background required. A Bachelors degree or higher in computer science is required with a minimum of 5+ years of industry experience.
4+ years in working with large data sets and analyzing data to identify patterns.
Experience data warehousing or data mart projects with full life cycle experience in implementation and support of DW Solutions
Must have extensive knowledge in ETL, Oracle, SQL Server and SQL & PL/SQL or TransactSQL.
Data warehouse techniques such as Star Schema/Snowflake.
Design and coding skills in Perl, shell script, XML on Unix Platforms.
Knowledge of tuning and scaling in a Data warehouse environment is highly desired.
Hands-on experience with OBIEE, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Hyperion Essbase or Microsoft reporting tools are pluses.
Good technical expertise and strong business skills, as he/she will be the lead in delivering Business Intelligence solutions.
Must be aware of testing process and DW implementation methodologies.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Effective analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience in Data modeling and Data Quality tool.
