Scope of Services: Admin providing 3rd level support, build and maintenance for the global Wintel Platforms (Windows Server, VMware, AWS, Azure) environment that includes Physical/Virtual systems. Responsible for technical shift services that include system installation, system management, support and triage of all global Wintel Platforms (Windows Server, VMware, AWS, Azure) systems.
Service Operations: Provide 3rd level server administrative support for all Intel based supported servers. This support must be such that server availability will be maintained at 99% or better. Support includes the following:
Insuring system hardware integrity through proactive measures
Updates of operating systems when required
Implementation of all upgrades and patches when required
Responsible for testing, and documenting new configurations of Windows/Vmware services.
Change Management: Ensure new solutions delivered by projects are fit for purpose in service and delivers the right solution to the business from a capability and cost perspective that are aligned to the AZ architecture roadmaps. The role will ensure tight governance on proposed architecture changes, upgrades and process modifications.

TCO: Responsible for the definition of the architecture for each of the component services to deliver value for money to the business and to ensure alignment to their business requirements. Regularly explore opportunities for technology consolidation, process improvements to ensure that greater efficiencies are gained in both technology and processes.
Documentation: Work with suppliers to review and ensure Technical Reference materials are current and accurate for the service teams to provide a robust service. Take ownership of all governance related documents standards, policies etc. to ensure standardization and simplification are gained at all levels.
Support/Service: Provides support to Service Managers and Suppliers during the resolution of support issues that would require significant change to the existing architecture.
Capacity Management: Responsible for ensuring that capacity is managed effectively through working with the Capacity Manager. Takes ownership of how WINDOWS/VM servers compute capacity is monitored, measured and tracked and reviews the process on a regular basis for service improvements.
Technology governance: As it relates to the WINDOWS/VM technology stack, oversees the following functions enforcing technology governance:
Incident & Problem management
Change management Major changes
Service Improvements as it relates to technology
Infrastructure lifecycle management

7+ years of overall technical experience in Windows Server and VMware domain
5+ years Operational experience in Windows Server and VMware administration
Operational experience in Windows Server and VMware domain with respect to managing Incidents, Problems, changes and capacity management aspects
Experience and ability to work in shifts on rotational basis covering Americas, EMEA and ASIAPAC regions 24*7
Demonstrated experience in leading technology areas for business projects and internal service improvement efforts.
Create, lead and/or support the Platform lifecycle management process to ensure the infrastructure stays current from the vendor support standpoint and also that it delivers cost efficient solutions

Extensive Hands on experience with Windows Server (Windows 2003/2008/2012) and VMware (ESXi 4.x and 5.x)
Experience with HP Blade servers, Cisco UCS, or Flexpod/PureFlex converged systems required.
Experience with Industry standard tools in Wintel patching (SCCM, BPPM, CA, PatchLink, etc.), monitoring tools (SCOM, vCOPs, Nagios, BPPM, etc.) and other capacity management tools (vCOPS, vCO, etc.).
Experience with migration and administration of Public cloud providers like Amazon and Azure a must.
Experience with Windows components like Terminal Services & Domain services are essential
Experience in engineering solutions using either Windows clustering or other industry standard clustering solution like Veritas is required
Demonstrated experience in designing VMware based solutions using VMware tools like vCOPs/vCAC, SRM etc. is essential
Solid understanding and/or work experience in storage technologies/concepts such as Fibre channel, Multi-pathing, CIFS, iSCSI is essential
Good experience in Datacenter operations specifically around monitoring, patching and backups is required
Should have good understanding of security layers and benchmarks within both Windows and VM stack
Experience or good understanding of SAN and NAS technologies preferably Hitachi/Netapp would be highly desired
Experience with configuring and implementing file shares and DFS
Experience with Powershell, VBscript or BASH shell scripting preferred.
