Job Description :
1. Strategic Advise & Opinion :
Conceive, formulate and implement strategic solutions to legal issues. Advise and opine on the basis of true and correct interpretation of statutory provisions and judicial precedents. Protect organizations interest in the event of probable litigation and /or to ensure statutory compliance.
Study, analysis and knowledge development.
Drafting pleadings, deeds and legal documents, notices, correspondences, etc.
Interaction with solicitors and advocates.
Keeping abreast with statutory amendments / developments.
Seeking external opinion on crucial issues.
2. Litigation :
Conducting litigation on a cost effective basis for effecting recoveries from delinquent customers, challenging arbitrary government action or inaction
Upholding the interests of the organization on other issues and to defend litigation initiated against the company.
Attending conferences and interacting with solicitors and advocates.
Attending Courts, Tribunals, Arbitration.
Monitoring and controlling the conduct of legal proceedings from the inception.
3. Pre empting Litigation :
Pre-empting litigation, wherever possible.
Mediation and conciliation.
4. Liaison with Statutory / Government Authorities :
Effective liaison to facilitate better communication and understanding, resolution of differences.
Attending meetings and discussions.
Communicating with clarity.
Conceiving mutually acceptable solutions.
Updation with latest developments in the corporate commercial world, statutory amendments, enactments, judicial precedents. Apprising the management of recent judicial and legal developments and the implications thereof.
Study legal journals, carry out research work.
Attend seminars, workshops on related matters.
Preparation of evaluative and informative notes.
Interaction with Senior Lawyers and luminaries of the profession.
