Roles and Responsibilities:
The Production Support Engineer will handle the day-to-day ops of the application support activities for the commercial product, a suite of Portals designed to Manage Health Plans related activities through Brokers and Agencies.
This person will work closely with business stakeholders, product engineering, implementation, QA and other production support teams within the organization .
The team is responsible in providing technical support (level 2&3) to internal and external users using the portals.
The role needs to be able to support the application 24x5. and will be required to work in shifts. Requires a hands on person with strong troubleshooting skills
Essential Functions :
Collaborates with systems Analysts and Development Team in providing technical support to the users Works with other Production Support Engineers to resolve roadblocks.
Works with Prod Support Supervisor to ensure goals and objectives are met Reports critical issues to management effectively, timely, and with clarity Hands-on support, troubleshooting and bug fixing as needed. Works in on-call support rotation among with peers.
B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. in Computer Science or MCA
Experience as a Production Support engineer
Experience with Java/J2EE
Experience with Unix and SQL (MySQL)
