The Senior AV Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining the Audio-Visual and Telecommunication infrastructure within a dynamic and fast paced studio environment. The engineer is required to provide technical expertise in systems design and integration of unified communication and digital media components.
This position requires 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in the field of enterprise communication and working knowledge on a variety of audio visual concepts, video conferencing and IP Telephony. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected of the engineer who will report to a supervisor or manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design and implement IP Telephony and Video Conferencing solutions along with hands-on support for all administration and maintenance related tasks
Provide high level technical support for Enterprise PBX systems (Avaya Communication Manager, Session Manager, System Manager, Media Gateways, etc.)
Work with junior technicians and team engineers on project oriented tasks associated with designing and integrating video-teleconference, control and projection systems in new or existing review rooms
Perform day to day operations i.e. extension management, conference bridges, dial-plans, Call routing, Call Vectors etc.
Responsible for all aspects of operation and maintenance of DCinema projection system
Color calibration of DCinema projector, plasma and LCD displays & desktop displays
Perform quick and efficient diagnosis of issues (working with internal support staff as well as external vendors) and recommend solutions
Ensure all necessary operational processes and procedures are carried out with a high level of attention to detail, expediency and on-time delivery. Identify areas for process/efficiency improvements, and assist in overseeing implementation
Generate documentation and end user cheat sheets as required.
General training of A/V room functionality to end users.
Manage external vendors (Solution partners, OEMs) and closely work with other teams within the Company.
Maintain spares and consumable inventory such lamps, connectors, cables, etc.
Prepare systems design and architectural drawings, specifications and contract documents
BE / B Tech Electronics Communication or any relevant Engg.
4-7 years experience in a media support role or prior work in a studio or broadcast environment
Experience in performing administration and management tasks with Legacy and IP telephony PBX systems from Avaya that include:
S8300/S8500/S8700 Media Servers and G430/G450/G650 Media Gateways
Communication Manager 6.0, BCMS Reporting
VDNs, Vectors, Trunks, CDR Server
CM LSP/ESS deployment and troubleshooting
Experience in audio-visual and video collaboration:
Video End points configuration and troubleshooting (Cisco C40/60/90)
Unified Communication applications and gateways (VCS Control, Expressway, Tandberg Management System (TMS), Jabber, Blue Jeans, etc.)
Programming Control Systems and Audio DSPs (AMX, Crestron, Biamp, etc.) to automate room functionalities and features
AV Systems Design and Integration using digital media components like switchers, scalers, signal processors, etc.
Analog and digital test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrometer, multimeters, signal generators and waveform analyzers
In-depth knowledge of :
LAN, WAN technologies
Telecom Protocols like H.323, SIP, TCP/IP, FTP/HTTP/ISDN PRI- E1/T1, BRI
Analog and digital AV standards and formats: NTSC, PAL, CCIR601, PCM, AES/EBU
Audio visual signal standards and connectors
Professional analog and digital AV film production equipment
Ability to interface well with multiple team members
Flexibility with work schedule
Good communication skills
Computer proficiency and ability to use Microsoft Office applications.
Other desired skills/abilities (considered as an added advantage)
CAD/Visio drawing skills
ITIL and Project management methodologies
Certifications like ACA, ACS, CCNA would be an added advantage
Experience with Linux operating systems
