As a member of our technical team, you will provide lab and integration support located onsite at our Customer premises. The Lab Integration Engineer will be responsible for the integration of the Sandvine platform with other systems including the validation of technical, operational, and environmental requirements for the Customers deployment. This role is also responsible for developing test strategies and automated test scripts, performing operational tests in the lab environment and documenting results. The successful candidate will be expected to document implementation steps that have been tested; handing over to operational team members for implementation in a production environment, maximizing service availability.
The Systems Integration Engineer role includes scenarios of product introduction, upgrade, expansion, functionality, and capacity testing and will be expected to have a strong working knowledge not only of the Sandvine infrastructure, but other connected elements that will enable the solution to operate efficiently. The Engineer will be well rounded with an understanding of many technologies server, network, virtualization, to name a few. The successful candidate will execute product configuration, integration work, identify and drive improvements, and execute operational recreate efforts in the case where an issue was experienced in the production environment. Communication is a key success factor to this role, since you will be working with other Sandvine team members and the Customer directly.
Minimum of 7 year experience in a technical role.
Degree or diploma from a technical institute
Strong technical background with experience in Wireless or Wireline broadband networks and related IP-based technologies. Good understanding of end-to-end network call flows
Ability to understand complex technical situations and the ability to solve the problem or solicit the required resources.
Demonstrated abilities of installation and configuration of servers
Hands-on experience with the troubleshooting, configuration, and deployment of network equipment such as Cisco, Juniper or other network hardware manufacturers
Excellent troubleshooting, investigative, and communications skills
Excellent documentation skills including producing write-ups and developing technical documents such as MOPs (method of procedures), handover documents, etc
Experience in a technical product lab setting or operational network environment
Hands-on experience with: Cisco, SAP OCS, Tekelec PCRF, Samsung PGW
Planning and implementation experience with broadband network equipment, 3GPP Policy Enforcement (PCRF) and Online Charging Systems (OCS).
Working knowledge of BSD/Linux
Working knowledge of ISP infrastructure technologies & protocols (DHCP, RADIUS, DIAMETER, GTP-C, BGP, SOAP, LDAP)
Understanding of network call flows using network traffic captures using tools such as Wireshark
Working knowledge of scripting languages (sh, bash, tcl, Python, and Perl) and SQL
Virtualization skills (Hypervisors, Openstack)
Familiar with the use of MicroStrategy would be an asset
High energy, self-starter with strong multi-tasking abilities and the ability to work independently
