The successful candidate will work either as the sole Project Manager or as part of a team providing project management services to our client(s). This position offers the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for leading a team of PMs and to progress your career. The position involves being an external facing Project Manager as well as having an internal business management responsibility. This internal responsibility may include the lead role for the delivery of a cross Mott MacDonald group project service delivery.
Key tasks will include:
Act as point of contact with client.
Lead and manage project delivery teams and/or support Senior PMs, in the delivery of projects.
Take increasing responsibility for managing a portfolio of projects.
Manage internal and external resources and develop team leadership responsibilities.
Be responsible for the delivery of projects in accordance with client requirements using best practice and to time and on budget.
Monitor project deliverables and ensure that key performance indicator measures are achieved.
Establish effective communications across the project delivery, client and stakeholder teams
Control the internal and external commercial aspects of projects across a range of contractual arrangements.
Support and manage the delivery of projects in accordance with the quality plan, including participation in regular internal and client audits.
Coordinate and manage the monthly reporting cycle for particular projects - including preparation of internal and external reports, financial forecasts, project updates.
Manage internally to ensure reputation and commercial success of projects.
To be considered you'll need to have had experience working in the workplace/fit out market along with:
A degree in a construction, engineering or project management discipline
A relevant professional qualification. RICS or APM is preferred but other professional qualification or evidence of working towards a professional qualification will be considered.
Appropriate experience across a range of projects, contract/procurement routes and ideally market sectors
Experience managing and leading project teams to successful outcomes
Good client and stakeholder relationship building skills
Effective communication with client project teams
Good knowledge of planning and other aspects of project controls
Ability to plan and manage an internal team
