General Accountability/ Role of the Job
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible to provide technical input and support for the successful completion of the Sohar Refinery Improvement project. The candidate shall administer project support such as preparation of technical specifications, guidelines and supports required to build all electrical facilities. He also will be responsible to carry out tasks related to project management, preparation of scope of work, evaluation of bids, review of designs, carry out various types of inspections and supervise and review progress of construction of electrical facilities in coordination with other discipline Engineers, Consultants, Contractors and Vendors within the specified cost and schedule.
Main Responsibilities/ Job Duties
List of activities:
Review specifications, drawings and construction scope of work related to Electrical installations, Switchgears, Transformers Generators, motors, UPS, etc.
Provide inputs to the EPC Contractor for detail design of Electrical system and Review detail design documents.
Review power system studies and ensures proper sizing of Electrical installations and equipment.
Review and application of Electrical power system modelling with software such as ETAP.
Participate in Design Review meetings, HAZOPs, FAT and SAT.
Review plans for Electrical Integrity Assessment such as facility technical information, identification/classification, prestart up integrity review and audit.
Supervise construction work and witnesses various types of inspection of Electrical installations and equipment and ensures inspections are carried out as per approved ITP.
Carry out periodical site inspections and monitors work progress.
Review and maintain spare part lists for all Electrical equipments.
Ensures compliance of Electrical equipment and installations with applicable standards.
Witness pre-commissioning tests and ensures safety of commissioning process of Electrical installations
Develop procedures and instructions for operating and maintaining Electrical systems and equipment.
MINIMUM CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS
University Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
Relevant experience in refinery/petrochemical for Engineer 3 years for Omani candidate and 8 years for Non-Omani candidate
Relevant experience in refinery/petrochemical for Senior Engineer - 5 years for Omani candidate and 12 years for Non-Omani candidate.
Detailed knowledge of Refinery and Petrochemical power systems, and substations. Project experience would be an advantage.
Experience in monitoring and coordinating activities of Consultants and EPC contractors
Leadership and Interpersonal:
Proven effectiveness in analysis execution, delivering results, promotion of team work required
Excellent interpersonal skills with strong customer orientation.
