Job Description


The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the operations of the Branch. This individual will report directly to the Branch Manager. The Operations Manager is responsible for increasing productivity while maintaining the highest level of customer service and accuracy to internal/external customers. In addition a strong focus and ability to maintain and increase sustainable business development for the Branch.


Responsibilities as follows:

Maintain a high level of customer service within the Branch culture
All functions and operations at the Branch
Supporting the growth of local sales, deep selling current local customer base
Understanding Agility pricing and cost components
Customarily and regularly directs the work of Team Leaders and allocates resources ensuring operational excellence and accuracy
Exercises the authority to hire, discipline, reward or discharge employees
Annual performance evaluations, training and development of staff
SECT and other quality metrics
Manages all direct reports as well as working with department managers/Supervisors/Leads within the Branch with a lead by example approach
Compliance with destination country requirements, multimodal/multidirectional
Letters of credit, transportation banking, sight drafts, etc.
To ensure proper release of cargo per company policy and guidelines
Exercises discretion and independent judgment on a regular basis to analyze and provide operating information to all staff
Branch performance and implementing changes as necessary
Responsible for exception resolution and documentation issues between internal and external customers
Responsible to work with Gateway and Branch managers to provide excellent service quality for customers
Responsible for the continuous improvement of processes to ensure gains in quality and productivity on an ongoing basis
Performs other responsibilities and completes tasks and projects as directed by Area and Branch Management


5+ years in freight forwarding industry with expert knowledge in import/export operations and documentation highly preferred
3+ years with managing a team of (2) or more
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience required
Experience in delivering improvements in quality and productivity in a service environment preferred

Qualified applicants (internal and external) must currently possess legal authorization to work in the United States

English is the principal language for this position. This position requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.


Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and other technical software is required.
