The Ops manager exercises complete responsibly for developing and managing a business operation that increases sales, profitability, market share, customer and employee satisfaction by directing, Projects, coordinating and monitoring all sales, Budget, and operations.
Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in large-scale building and industrial projects of which 7 years in managerial position Plan, review, coordinate design, construction, testing, commissioning of Mechanical and Electrical systems, HVAC, Plumbing systems, Fire Fighting, Piping , Safety Systems are essential.
Should posses Management & Project Management skills in tendering and finalizing contracts
Knowledge of International Codes & Standards (UBC, ASHARE, NEPA, BS, etc.) is a must.
Knowledge of principles and methods for presentation, promoting, and selling products or services (Must be aggressive & highly motivated/Result Oriented)
Should have strong Knowledge in Finance/Accounts, Costing, Budgeting, account allocation, Account Receivable/Payable, Profit & Loss.
Engineer in Mechanical with a Post Graduate Qualification in Marketing
Certificates in PMP /Fire fighting etc (Not essential)
Fluency in English (Read/Write/Speak), Arabic would be preferable, together with high level negotiation and analytical skills are fundamental.
Computer Literacy is essential, particularly with M/S Word and Excel. Previous demonstrated knowledge and experience using M/S Project, and AutoCAD
Project Planning & Management; Supervising project activities and handling the complete cycle of the project management entailing requirement gathering and final execution of projects. Finalizing requirements and specifications in consultation with engineering consultants / collaborators, external suppliers and contractors. Reviewing the project progress on all aspects viz. material submittals, drawings and actual site construction with senior staff regularly and taking necessary corrective actions required to meet the project program. Appraising project feasibility after considering wide spectrum aspects such as quantum of project outlay involved, existing capacity levels in terms of manpower, machinery and technology, scope of enhancing the resources and accordingly deciding the future course of action. Installing M&E equipment, Plumbing, electrical and mechanical works while supervising start-up of Mechanical, Electrical and Safety Systems.
Site Management / Contracts Administration; Preparing technical specifications & scope of deliverables, estimates. Review of technical & commercial proposals, layout -- control drawings along with handling contract / billing related formalities, documentation & targeted cash flow schedules. Reviewing contractors' claims related to mechanical works and preparing recommendations for claims approval or rejection. Assisting the QS team in negotiations with contractors regarding the value of claims or changes in schedules. Monitoring on-site activities to ensure completion of project within the time & cost parameters and effective resource utilization to maximize the output. Preparing & reviewing of method statements and work specific quality control plans. Ensuring that machineries/ equipment/materials received are in accordance with the quantity & quality. Conducting weekly site progress meetings & taking minutes.
Vendor Development / Project Procurement; Identifying and developing cost effective vendors at local & international level for procurement of project equipment based on purchase specifications. Coordinating procurement activities like tendering & bid management, estimations, techno-commercial evaluations, contract negotiations, etc. Reviewing purchase orders with regard to technical requirements, delivery schedules and commercial terms prior to signing.
