Job Description

Responsible for quality, Cost & delivery (QCD) targets for all new products and improvements in existing products
To develop the assigned components as per drawing within stipulated time.
To Work towards Material cost reduction (MCR) through VA/ VE, Alternate sourcing, Localization, supplier up-gradation, negotiation.
Participate in part cost and tooling budget preparation & monitoring for assigned sub commodity components.
Settle price in line with SBC
To Undertake Trouble Shooting for critical parts.
Responsible for Capacity Ramp-Up.
Key Tasks & Activities:
Send RFQ (Request for Quotation) along with drawing cleared from STA; to Supplier
Ensure that the Statement of Requirement (SOR)/Drawing is available for MIMR &LILR parts.
Effective co-ordination with the Design team to ensure first time right & end delivery of product.
Receive quotation with CIR (customer input requirements) signoff, Process flow diagram, Packaging standard
Support pricing team for tool price settlement within targeted budget
Seek approval on Vendor layout for vendor finalization
Ensure Vendor on Board and issue LOI for development
Seek Tooling clearance from R&D and ensure kickoff of tooling at vendor end.
Monitor part development progress at vendor end and ensure sample approval from STA.
To hand over tooled up sample to R & D for Testing. To study the test report & work accordingly to meet technical requirement.
Ensure PTR Run at vendor and components to be sent in final packaging
Ensure the availability of parts at plant for initial vehicle build
Ensure availability of parts for SOP as per production plan
Ramp-up of parts as per production requirement
Part Handover to SCM
Generate data base - Raw material commodity movement, Vendor capacity, vendor Benchmarking (Cost & Design)
Generate MCR ideas through VA/ VE, Alternate sourcing, Localization, supplier up-gradation, negotiation.
Follow & implement NPD gates & process.
Participate in DFM (Design for Manufacturability) along with STA
Support STA counterpart in part development as per PPAP process & Project timelines
Vendor analysis & rationalization for capacity assessment and time frame agreement
Should have 5 + yrs of exp Vendor development in assigned commodity.
