The System Engineers duties are as follows (but not limited to):
User Account Management including standard work on how to access and login the system and updating daily system status to the user community
System Management such as Interface Configuration Changes and Daily Health Checks
Problem Management - updating the customer internal fault tracking system (trouble ticket system), liaison with customer operations staff
Database Administration - monitoring database health, troubleshooting and recovering from minor database problems, Performance monitoring of hardware and software, including making recommendations for upgrades
Maintain system customization and proactively report necessary system capacity extension
Position: LTE Support Engineer
Experience: 5-9 years
The System Admin should have at least the following skillset:
Excellent grasp of telecommunications trends and technologies, both new and legacy. Experience in LTE is a must.
Knowledge of LINUX and UNIX operating systems on administrator level
Familiarity with WIN, DOS, computer application packages (i.e. MSWord, MSExcel, Outlook)
Knowledge of ORACLE /SQL,
Knowledge of telecommunication protocols and networks SS7, GSM, GPRS, UMTS, VoIP, IMS
The ideal background for a System Admin is :
A minimum of 5 years telecoms experience
A minimum of 3 years in a customer-facing role
University-level qualification in a suitable technical field e.g. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering
