Job Profile

The specialist in HV cable systems will join our multi disciplinary T & D engineering team. The client base consists of transmission and distribution utilities, main contractors, private developers, lenders, specialist contractors, financial organizations etc. Mott MacDonald's wider energy team also encompasses experts in power generation of all kinds and this role will also be expected to support this and other sectors of the business.

Job Description

You will provide input to major schemes but may also be called upon to be project manager to lead projects specifically relating to HV cable systems. You will provide feasibility study, conceptual design and design development, detailed design, owners engineer roles, project management and commissioning advice to Mott MacDonald clients. The role will be UK based from our offices in but you will be required to travel to clients and sites in both the UK and overseas.

Candidate Specification

The HV Cable Systems engineer will be a leader in cable systems engineering, and will work as part of a team delivering a variety of cable projects in the UK and abroad. The cable projects will cover all voltages from low voltage to transmission, working on distribution networks, onshore and off shore, transmission networks, interconnectors, HVAC and HVDC will also be involved in project development covering consenting, way leaves, surveys, route identification and selection.You will probably have a minimum University level qualification and will have significant experience in the cables industry working for a manufacturer, developer, contractor or another consultant.
