- Responsible for developing, implementing and managing the Design Quality Management Plan and ensuring that the overall QMS requirements are met from a design perspective. - Responsible to ensure that the design team follows its internal quality control procedures, will be responsible for quality assurance, and will audit the design inputs, design outputs, design reviews, design verification procedures, and design changes. - Responsible to interface with the independent design checking teams. - Responsible for auditing Contractor's Quality System, raising, resolving and reviewing Non Conformance Reports.- Develop, implement and monitor design quality management strategies, policies and programs for the project. - Ensure compliance with ISO 90001 requirement in order to maintain HMM's registration in good standing. - Ensure pragmatic application of quality principles on the project. - Liaise with parties undertaking audits of the project. - Ensure audits are undertaken and prompt follow-up undertaken. - Supports project managers in the development and implementation of quality management plans for the project. - Communicate with senior leadership on issues dealing with quality. - Ensure that reliable and up-to-date quality information and competent advice is available. - Monitor the project audits schedule. - Review and approval of project audit reports. - Monitor the close-out of corrective and preventive actions arising from internal audits for the project. - Develop project procedures.
- University degree in engineering. - Member in good standing of Ordre des Ingnieurs du Qubec (OIQ). - 10-15 years' related experience and knowledge in quality management, highway design and construction. - Demonstrated experience as a quality leader within an ISO 9001 registered consulting engineering company or construction contractor in Canada. - Experience with design, project management, and/or construction management for a consulting engineering company. - Currently in a senior position managing teams involved in large or complex projects for public sector clients. - Solid reputation in the engineering and business community. - Familiarity with various delivery models for construction, an asset. - Possess excellent communication skills (oral and written) in French and English. - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). - Willing travel as required to project site and client offices. - Broad technical knowledge. - Strong degree of integrity and resolve, and willing to take a firm position when necessary. - Self-starter who works with limited direction. - Results driven and ensures the right course of action is taken. - Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
