Our Client is recruiting a CEO to oversee and manage all levels of the entity, grow the business, strengthen systems, and report on the company's progress to the board.
The CEO, who would hit the ground running and oversee the transition of the company from a relatively small enterprise to the No 1 player in its category, execute business plan and report on progress to the board. All functional heads of the organization will report directly to the CEO who will report to the board.
This is an entrepreneurial opportunity with a strong focus on building and scaling the business, oversee and manage all levels of the entity strategy, operations and sales with overall achievements tied to P&L.
The key responsibility of the role will be to be a "hands-on" leader for the business, who will be responsible to provide end-to-end direction across all functions related to developing business and defining overall strategy for the organization.
Provides overall direction and guidance to the operational activity of the organization with the objective of maximizing day-to-day leadership and management to all departments.
Ensure adequate delegation of authority to operational and business development units, allowing entrepreneurial spirits to drive corporate growth.
Hire, develop and retain a high quality team across India. Designing and recruiting for an HR function within its hub office. Mentor the current management team to potentially fill the future leadership roles within the organization.
Define sales vision and oversee execution of activities to meet goal of increasing the top-line. Ensures sales strategies and plans are consistent with the company's long-range strategic objectives.
Set-up processes & systems within the organization and farmers/supplier groups to ensure quality control and seamless delivery of orders across products channels geographies.
Define procurement strategy and develop policies and procedure for purchase in line with the annual business plan. Identification and assessment of the vendor base by leading the process of signing up market-ready farmer and other groups in line with the product and sales strategy of the organisation.
Work closely with the Entrepreneur/Chairman to develop practicable and innovative offerings (product price delivery etc.) that align with the needs /demands of target markets.
Develop and oversee a strategy for developing a presence in new geographies and explore new opportunities, such as overseas markets or launching new products.
Ideal candidate will be given significant autonomy to develop sales channels and operations as seen fit to grow the organization to become a globally recognized brand in the category, as in line with the stated objectives of the board and chairperson.
Strong management skills and experience of 15-20 years in the FMCG industry, especially in a market-facing position selling food.
Ideally with experience launching a new gourmet brand into the market with an established FMCG or a start-up highly desirable.
Ability to manage multiple teams; delegate; work cooperatively with people at various levels of responsibilities; and direct, mentor and supervise is required.
Should have a passion to work in business with double bottom lines of economic and social objectives.
Ability to assess routine demand and variation patterns to forecast purchases based on interaction with sales and business development team.
Ability to manage staff with conflicting demand and performance pressures while sticking to delivery timelines and cost constraints.
Ability to manage multiple vendors and multi location logistics in high paced, high pressure situations.
High level of problem solving abilities and judgment that provides leadership in a customer service environment which requires commitment and understanding of the principals of continuous improvement.
A post graduate in management qualification, from a reputed institution would be considered a plus.
