The candidate must have a good understanding of Retail, acquired by working directly in the Retail industry or in a Retail consulting practice.
The candidate must have experience in driving decision making through data modelling & analysis using analytical tools (like SAS, SPSS, R, etc.) to fulfill key Retail functional requirements like optimizing Pricing and Promotions, improving Assortment and Space Management, optimizing Retail Inventory across the Stores & Distribution Network, improving Customer Loyalty, developing Customer Segments, predicting Customer Propensity to Churn.
Exposure to - unstructured data analysis- especially for e-commerce to generate business insights will be an added advantage.
Essential Experience & Skills Required
Ability to understand the business context/use cases and develop advanced analytics based solutions for the same
Good statistical knowledge to applying statistical models to solve business problems
Ability to convert structured or unstructured business issues into data driven analytical models for decision making:
Define scope of analysis, specify data requirements, establish credible sample size, simulate business scenarios, analyze data, test hypotheses, generate business insights, present insights, dashboard results
Proven business results delivered in one or more key Retail functions through advanced analytical models - Customer Loyalty/ Segmentation and Customer Purchasing Behavior Insights (through POS data analytics), Store Clustering, Pricing and Promotion Management, Assortment and Space Optimization, Inventory Optimization, Distribution Network design, etc.
Analytics experience in predictive modeling, time series, segmentation, decision trees, advanced algorithms etc. will be required
Hands on experience in handling large unstructured datasets and building complex analytical models using analytical tools like SAS, SPSS, R, Perl, PHP, Python, SQL, etc. (at least one of the given tools)

Ability to interact with client leadership and present solutions & insights in a presentation slides and/or through dashboards
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines as per clients- requirements
Willingness to travel long term / short term, within & outside India for consulting assignments
Desired Experience and Skills
Exposure to global retail industry and/or global retail consulting assignments will be an advantage
Possession of valid US work visa that is transferable in accordance with rules & regulations
Prior experience in one or more of big data, social, web and mobility analytics for Retail industry vertical is desirable. Hands on experience in Hadoop, SAP HANA, etc will be an added advantage
Educational Qualification Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Masters in Statistics from a reputed institution (Essential)
Master's Degree or Post Graduation in Business Management from a reputed institution (Preferable)
Years of Experience Required
2 to 4 years of relevant work experience with analytical tools in the Retail domain for Analyst position
5 to 8 years of relevant work experience with analytical tools in the Retail domain for Consultant position
