Job Description

Purpose Of Job : -

To develop new and superior product development methods for Spice powders and blends or Spice extracts for business advantage.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Research and development:

Conduct independent research on upcoming spice powders and blends or spice extracts in markets , their development and analysis techniques
Developing new products in powders , blends or extracts category and modifying existing products for exports and key customers
Develop methods, develop prototypes and rigorous testing of the methods to ensure their accuracy, reproducibility and repeatability
Fine-tune the product development methodology after taking customer and market feedback
Conduct ageing and shelf life studies for Spices powders , blends or extracts
Build expertise in sensory analysis and other extraction techniques
Provide expertise on scale-up and commercialization as well quality control to technical function of business
Participate in root cause analysis for improving service time and quality of new product rollouts

Planning and coordination:

Assist in assessing capital cost involved and evaluating the viability of new product developments at industry scale
Implement quality systems in product development lab
Coordinate activities to achieve international standards in facilities and processes at product development lab

Product development lab maintenance:

Assist in maintaining all lab equipments in current state of calibration
Report inventory requirements for chemicals and other consumables
Implement safety and maintenance measures of all lab equipments
Coordinate with vendors to lab chemicals and other consumables weekly or need based

Supervision and Training:

Impart training on identification of new varieties of raw material for business advantage
Assist technical function in developing quality control and processing methods specific to newly developed products
Impart training on quality control for new products for other business functions

Documentation and compliance:

Ensure traceability for all operations and measurements
Preparing product specification documents and research notes
Prepare and update standard operating procedures.

Educational Qualifications: Post Grad. In food technology

Age & Experience : 30-35, 6-7 years in food related product development and formulation.
